Bulbul Alessi Kettle

Bulbul is a brand new kettle whose prototype dates back to 1995 and was retrieved from the archives of the Alessi Museum. Imagined starting from the rounded shape of a curling stone: it has an original handling method, as if to suggest an invitation to play by sliding it onto the kitchen counter. In Bulbul appears the extraordinary ability of Achille Castiglioni to translate qualities and functions taken from objects belonging to completely different fields into a project. A game of transfers that has often given rise to the equally famous ironic dimension of many of his works.
